I have yet to jog on the path alongside the Black Sea which is in front of my hotel. But I've heard tell of many open manholes along the route from people who have been running there.  Al Spy did extensive research on company time and discovered that people have been stealing the manhole covers. P.S.  After reading the Washington Post piece reporting the nightmares of journalists at their hotels, I feel very lucky.  Also, I'm thinking this room could hold 6 to 8 journalist refugees.  At a couple of hundred bucks apiece, plus the servibar markup, this could become my Putin Olympics if you know what I mean. 

By the way, despite the recent explosion of local development, Sochi lacks any kind of sewer system.  I  won't be swimming in those small rivers with concrete walls anymore.
